New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has found a new target: gun trafficking. A new report from his office called “Target on Trafficking” reveals the glaring trends he says are undermining New York’s strong gun laws, which are some of the toughest in the nation. In that report, was this glaring statistic: 74 percent of all crime guns recovered by law enforcement come from out of state.
Now, the Attorney General’s office has introduced a new and first-of-its-kind interactive tool that will allow law enforcement and citizens to follow gun trafficking patterns in and out of New York, and ultimately help elected officials measure the effectiveness of current gun laws.
Tonight, NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman joins Metrofocus Contributor and One-on-One with Steve Adubato host Steve Adubato to break down the report and how this new tool can help enforce New York’s gun laws.
