New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman expanded his office’s probe into internet service providers on Wednesday, putting Charter Communications on watch.
The AG sent a warning to Charter, telling the cable company that it had better fix Time Warner Cable’s “apparent failure to deliver the reliable and fast Internet it promised to New York consumers” after it completes its acquisition of the company.
The AG’s office said the preliminary results of its investigation into TWC were “troubling” and that customers were getting slower connections during peak hours.
“Charter has made significant investments in our core infrastructure, which has enabled us to offer high-value products backed by a high-quality service organization throughout our footprint,” Justin Venech, a Charter spokesman, said in a statement.
